What Type of Church Will We Be?

Building on the Rock “The visible Church of Christ is a congregation of faithful men and women, in which the pure Word of God is preached, and the Sacraments be duly administered according to Christ’s ordinance in all those things that of necessity are requisite to the same.” Article 19a, Articles of Religion

Building on the Rock “And he [Jesus Christ] is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. Three sectors Spiritual Organizational Ecclesial

Spiritual 1.We will be missional. 2.We will evangelize. 3.We will be biblically faithful. 4.We will declare the whole counsel of God.

Organizational 4.We will encourage initiative within the bounds of orthodoxy 5.We will encourage Christ-centred community. 6.We will plant churches.

Ecclesial 1.We will have an Anglican order. 2.We will be part of a larger Anglican Communion. 3.We will be bound by “original Anglican documents”: 4.We will have a Prayer Book from the orthodox Anglican tradition.

Ecclesial 5.We will encompass the godly spiritual traditions that nurtured Anglicans. 6.We will maintain a godly balance between the Bishop, Synod and Parish in the selection and discipline of clergy. 7.We will ordain women to the diaconate and presbyterate, while respecting and protecting those who dissent.

Faithful stewards These are but some distinctives of a godly Anglican Church. We pray that we will be faithful stewards in Christ’s Church and in the power of the Holy Spirit bring glory, laud and honour to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, three persons, one God, forever and ever. Amen
