SENTENCE PATTERN CLUES Only nouns (or pronouns) can be owned. If something is owned it is a NOUN (or pronoun). Even if in most other sentences or in the dictionary the word would be listed as another part of speech, if it is being owned in the sentence you are analyzing, it is a NOUN!
