Presentation transcript:

Over Over is a 7 man front. We will use Over cover 2 vs. passing teams or team in a passing situation. We have 5 pass defenders underneath and 2 deep. In run situations we will run Over cov 4 which allows our safeties to be aggressive run defenders while eliminating cutback responsibility to our outside backers. Slot rules (Sam and Will)- If you have a slot to your side you must split the difference between your Gap and the slot. If a slot catches a ball for more than a 3 yard gain you need to widen out. If the Sam or Will feels they are getting too far from the core formation to protect their gap responsibility then they will make a GAP call to the D-End. A GAP call tells the D-End to take the inside gap and the Linebacker will have the outside GAP
