“Breaking the Chains”

Work towards the rehabilitation and education of all victims of human trafficking, regardless of age, race or sex, with the goal of rediscovering their identities and place in society. The Haven for Humanity was created by graduate students at Syracuse University's Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs as part of a class assignment. This organization is fictitious, and the information contained here is for educational purposes, only.

 At least 50,000 people in Spain are victims of human trafficking  The “Cycle of Chains”:  Many former victims of human trafficking become traffickers themselves  Little existing assistance for victims attempting to reintegrate into society

Haven for Humanity offers the following services to the victims of modern slavery:  Education  Job Training & Placement  Facilitation of Rehabilitation

 Thousands of reported victims  Nearly equal numbers of trafficked men and women  Pro-active and cooperative government  Funding and expertise readily available

EDUCATION REHABILITATION  Inaugural class of forty students  Equivalent to Spanish secondary education  College preparatory training  Psychological Counseling  Drug Abuse Rehabilitation  Cost-sharing use of outside experts JOB PLACEMENT  Vocational training  Monitored internships and apprenticeships  Advising on Spanish citizenship process for those staying in Spain

 Increased visibility by enlisting support of local football stars, celebrities, and politicians  Results of NGO work announced and published in local and international press
