A Woman Working in IT Have to adopt a male attitude at times Closed community – bonding done in virtual world of gaming, etc Predominantly male workforce – only female Only female in computer lab Difficulty getting heard

The Impact of Women Within The IT Sector Employers forced to change working practices Some employers embraced women from the start Equal Opportunity initiatives started Slowly learning additional value women bring

Are Opportunities & Support Readily Available? Not always directly but they are there Need to approach reviews/assessments in expected ways Network outside office to gain support, training, mentoring & ensure opportunities are known when available Be proactive
