Problem – make different sources working together without power quality loss keeping efficiency as high as it is possible keeping costs as low as it is possible Electronic power converters give possibility to make efficient link between different type of sources The system of different sources connected to DC-link needs to be designed, built and examined Power of sources should be at least few hundred kW per unit
Problem – efficient power conversion bidirectional AC/DC converters for energy storage systems AC/DC converters for variable frequency systems DC/AC converters working with grid or stand-alone all the rest you need
Strategy We would like to find out: how sources work with power converters how sources work together how to operate them to minimise costs We are going to do this by building and practical examining the DC-linked system
Work plan control strategy design remote control system design about 2 MW power converters design (DC/DC, DC/AC, AC/DC) converters construction system construction system operating examination approximately 5 years
Partners power electronic company (APS Energia Ltd.) distribution company industry electrical engineering institute (i.e. Magdeburg University of Technology, Aachen University of Technology) budget should be about 1,5 Million for power electronic converters and control systems project
Thak you!
