Presentation transcript:

Diagnose method for the abnormal noise when Quadraider 600 running at L gear position After collecting further information from the market, now we can focus this L gear position noise problem at several points. I hope you can carry following operation to help us to find out which part on the vehicle is defective, and send it back to Taiwan for further countermeasure. In brief, we concluded that there could only two parts making this problem : Engine transmission system and Front / Rear gear box.

Step 1. Shift gear position check This test is to make sure the shift gear system is set correctly. 1- A. To loose the connecting rod between the shift lever to the engine. Loose screw to remove the connecting rod.

1- B. To make sure the gear position is neutral. When the shift bar is line-up with this crew, the gear position is NEUTRAL.

1- C. Put the gear Position at L Gear, then test drive to see if any noise appears. To push the shift bar to the right end to have the gear at LOW Shift. If you find difficulty to push the bar, rotate out put shaft when push. NEUTRAL HIGH LOW Check video clip to understand how to push. ftp://ftp.sym.com.tw/SERVICE/Technical training/UA60 gear change by hand push.AVI PUSH

To adjust the shift connecting rod in the correct position, simply adjust two screws shown below until all five gear position indication light on the speedometer all in correct position.

Step 2. Rear Gear box disconnect test This test is to check if the rear gear box is the cause of the noise. 2- A. To loose and remove the propeller shaft between the shift lever to the engine (Remove Left Rear Tire to do this job). To loose three fixation bolt to remove the rear propeller shaft.

2- B. After remove the propeller shaft, push the 2WD / 4WD button to make the ATV run under 4WD mode. Then, then test drive to see if any noise appears. If both action (shift gear position check and Rear gear box check ) had been done and the noise remains, Remove the gasket shown below. If this fails also, Change engine transmission parts (Check parts catalogue page E12 & E15 ). Remove this green gasket and test. By doing this the shift fork will be more compressed by cover.
