Climate Change Models Flowchart of Analyses used in the Water Planning Study Water Resources Model (MODSIM) Water Resources Model (MODSIM) Groundwater Model (MODFLOW) Surface Water Model (DHSVM) Water Conservation Assessment Water Use Assessment Existing WR Infrastructure Existing WR Operations Existing Water Demands Water Rights Future Water Demands Water conservation Population change Historical Meteorological Data 4 Different Scenarios: 1 Historical streamflow timeseries 3 Projected streamflow timeseries Well pumping scenario? ASR scenario? 3 sets of Projected Meteorological Data Evaluation of WR Metrics under Each Alternatives: Deliveries (shortfall amount, duration, % of time, cost) Reservoir volumes Hydropower Production Streamflows Historical Precipitation Data Water Storage Assessment Habitat Suitability Analysis Potential new storage site(s) Instream Flow AWS / Q relationships Instream Flow AWS / Q relationships

Total Combinations of WR Runs in MODSIM 4 Streamflow : 1 Historical 3 Projected 1-2 GW Alternatives: Current Conditions Well pumping rate alternative? ASR alternative? 2 Water Demand Alternatives: Current Conditions Conservation Alternative 2 Infrastructure Alternatives: Current Conditions Water Storage Alternative ~32 WR Runs

Possible IFIM Species/Lifestages/Sites to Consider 74 IFIM Species/Lifestages/Sites 32 WR Runs 2368 Habitat Time Series Analysis Runs

Possible Alternatives for completing the Instream Flow Assessment 1.Normandeau uses streamflow output from MODSIM to perform habitat timeseries, provides analysis and results. Similar to original contract, analysis and results done by Normandeau. 2.Create tool (Excel?) that has AWS/Q relationships. Streamflow from MODSIM is input into tool to perform habitat timeseries analysis. OR, if ok with BOR, put AWS/Q relationship into MODSIM. Requires tool to be built, or AWS/Q to be put into MODSIM. Facilitates future habitat timeseries analysis. Other: Based on the number of species/lifestages selected today and available funding, incorporate MFID IFIM Locations.
