8BW write a rap. Follow these instructions to write your own lyrics
Your topic is…… CHRISTMAS!!!!!! (you lyrics must be appropriate – in other words, something you could rap to Mr. Bell!)
Write a hook This is the catchy part of the rap that repeats e.g. Just be good to me (Professor Green) Can you think of any others?
Brainstorm Words and ideas, Rhymes Raps usually have this sort of rhythm “a ONE and a TWO and a THREE and a FOUR “ (When you read your rap the capitalized words are the syllables that you emphasise). e.g. A RAP is a RHYME with the FUNK-i-est BEAT
Decide on a structure Raps are usually verse and chorus structure. Each section will be 16 bars long. A typical structure might be Chorus – Chorus – Verse – Chorus – Verse – Chorus – chorus
Practise your rap Say it over and over again so that you get a feel for the rhythm
Memorise the words Practise… practise… practise…!
