The Respiratory System Function A collection of organs that take in oxygen and expel carbon dioxide.
Why do we need air? We need air to breathe. The air we breathe has oxygen. We cannot survive without oxygen. To help us achieve this, we have RESPIRATORY.
Oxygen carbon dioxide The respiratory system is the system of the body that deals with breathing. When we breath, the body takes in the oxygen it needs.
 The respiratory system uses many parts for breathing in oxygen and releasing carbon dioxide.  These include the nose, the trachea, and the lungs.

∞ Airway (trachea) ∞ Lungs ∞ Muscles of the respiratory system include the diaphragm

∞A∞Airway(nose)- a concept in the respiratory physiology that describes the resistance of the respiratory tract to airflow during inspiration and expiration. ∞L∞Lungs- each pair of organs situated within the rib cage, consisting of elasticsacs with branching passages into which air is drawn, so that the oxygen can pass into the blood and carbon dioxide be removed. Lungs are characteristic of vertebrates other than fish, though similar structures are present in some other animal groups. each pair of organs situated within the rib cage, consisting of elastic. ∞M∞Muscles-The diaphragm in the respiratory system is the dome-shaped sheet of muscle that separates the chest from the abdomen.

∞ The breathing process starts at the nose and mouth. You inhale air into you nose or mouth, and it travels down the back of your throat and into your wind pipe. For you lungs to do their best, these airways need to be open during inhalation and exhalation or swelling and excess or abnormal.

∞ The respiratory system works with the body by breathing. When we breath, we inhale oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide. This exchange of gases is the respiratory system’s means of getting oxygen to the blood. Respiration is achieved through the mouth, nose, trachea, lungs, and diaphragm.

∞ The main job of the respiratory system is to move fresh air into and get waste gases out of your system.

∞ Your brain controls how fast your lungs draw in air. ∞ Your lungs are protected by your ribcage ∞ Your diaphragm is a muscle that sits under your lungs. ∞ Your diaphragm makes you breath in and out of your system.
