ISTITUTO AGOSTINO BERENINI FIDENZA ITALY

This project was born from students’ curiosity and their own desire to know

They were struck by the title of a book. It was a book on poetry written in 1968 by a famous Italian writer. She is Elsa Morante and the book is: “Il mondo salvato dai ragazzini” (The world saved by children)

In the book there were two questions: Is it true that there is a world to save? What did the young do? And how did they do it? And finally: DID THEY SUCCED?

This project aims at studying and interpreting a decade that somehow changed the world, But it also wants to give answers.

May be we are too ambitious but we want to be very practical too. This project’s intention is to verify if it was true that just during this decade European youth reached maturation through the culture of that time. And if it also lead to the acquirement of a common belonging in a world where they challenged spatial, social and intellectual limits.

OBJECTIVES AND STRATEGY This project will involve a very large number of traditional subjects such as history, literature, music, art, sociology, and many more; It suggests to help young students to acquire the basic abilities necessary for life, entrusted to experiences of shared research work, either by means of advanced data transmission or ICT facilities; It offers the opportunity to develop the knowledge and the understanding of the cultural and linguistic European diversity and of its value between the young people and the teaching staff; in the particular instance of the present project, besides the single subject and common didactic activities objectives which will be specified later on, a focused linguistic training will also take place.

VERY IMPORTANT !!! There is a very important point to consider: the exibition which will take place at the end of the project. It will show the research made by the students, with panels containing objects, photos, books, clothes, music…. These panels will be both in English and in the language of the relevant country. The exibition will take place at town’s premises and will be open with guided visits. The visits will be well advertised in the local press and students will be available to guide and discuss their research to visitors.

THANK YOU
