Performance Check

What Is A Performance Check? A Performance Check recognizes the variance in web page download times and gives a representation of the average time a page takes to download.

What Results Are Produced? Performance Check results are represented in a graphical bar chart. Color codes indicate differences in download performance.

How Is A Performance Check Performed? A Performance Check uses the Read Timer function to record the time that the page took to download, as well as the Multiple Playback n function to generate average of times.

How Is A Performance Check Performed? Start Recording: Part 1 of 9 In the eValid browser, navigate to the page that you would like to check for performance. Select Record > Start Recording from the eValid Toolbars.

How Is A Performance Check Performed? Read Timer: Part 2 of 9 Next, click Record > Timer > Read Timer to have the elapsed time read into the event log on playback.

How Is A Performance Check Performed? Stop Recording: Part 3 of 9 Click Record > Stop Recording when you are satisfied that you visited all the elements of the page you need to test.

How Is A Performance Check Performed? Sample Script: Part 4 of 9 A completed Performance Check script should look similar to the script on the left. The script window can be accessed through Window > Script Window.

How Is A Performance Check Performed? Multiple Playback Setting: Part 5 of 9 In the Settings > Record/Play Preferences > Playback menu, set the Multiple Playbacks N value option to the number of times you would like to repeat the page download.

Project/Log Management Multiple Playback Setting: Part 6 of 9 Next, make sure that Append to Logs is checked. Click OK when you are finished.

How Is A Performance Check Performed? Run Multiple: Part 7 of 9 Next, begin the multiple playback by selecting Playback > Control Playback > Run Multiple.

How Is A Performance Check Performed? View Timing Log: Part 8 of 9 Once playback has completed, select Window > Logs > Timing Log.

How Is A Performance Check Performed? History Chart: Part 9 of 9 Click View > Graph from the timing log, and hit the History button. This Chart window, shows the variance in download times of multiple playbacks of that page.
