Education is a fundamental human right:  every child is entitled to it  it is critical to our development as individuals and as societies  it helps pave the way to a successful and productive future When we ensure that children have access to quality education that is rooted in gender equality, we create a ripple effect of opportunity that impacts generations to come. 4

Pestalozzi Children’s Foundation / emPower 2012 International Development Cooperation Encouraging children to play and explore helps them learn and develop socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually. Children's play involves  exploration  language experimentation  cognition  development of social skills Children learn how to behave by imitating the behavior of those closest to them. As such, parents, teachers and caregivers need the knowledge and skills necessary to provide the child with the best early learning environment and interaction. 5
