The increase in the number of elderly people have placed burdens on many countries to provide adequate health care.

Adequate health care should be provided for people and the United States should look at other countries for guidance on effective systems.

Why should adequate health care be provided? Because elderly people helped… us fight in WWI and WWII make our country one of the most powerful and profitable work really hard on the economy

Why has there been an increase of elderly people? Baby boomer generation- When WWII ended and people started having babies again.

The United States is one of the only industrialized nations that does not provide at least basic health care to every citizen.

Three types of Universal health care: Single Payer: most is covered through the government and additional private funds. Two-Tier: Is commonly used by the elderly. First-tier covered by the government. Second- tier private insurance company. Insurance Mandate: Goal- mandatory to have insurance. Penalty or fine if you don’t.

What system is the most effective? There is no right answer! The fact is health care is expensive. No matter what system of health care you have you still will have to pay somehow: -Taxes -Levies -Small co-pays

Why is health care so expensive? Expensive to make new and better medicines. Expensive to pay the doctors Have to pay them a lot because school cost a lot Expensive to experiment new procedures
