Kindergarten Unit: Jump Rope

Kindergarten Locomotor Skills Objectives: PE.K.MS.1.1 Execute recognizable forms of the basic locomotor skills. What does that mean to you? You are going to be learning how to jump rope in this unit. There are 5 different skills that your teacher is going to show you. You will need to be able to show your teacher that you can do at least 4 of these 5 skills. Jump Roping skills: 1. Can jump (bending their knees) over a rope lying on the ground 2. Can correctly turn the jump rope keeping elbows close to the body 3. Can push off and land on the balls of their feet 4. Can slow jump over a rope lying on the ground (yield on landing) 5. Can fast jump over a rope lying on the ground (buoyant landing)

Kindergarten Jump Rope Summary By the end of this unit you will need to be able to show your teacher that you can do at least 4 of the 5 jump rope skills you used. Jump Roping skills: 1.
