U.S. AIR FORCE A U X I L I A R Y CAWG Old Glider Winch u Built on a 1960 F350 crew cab ford chassis with 286 HP V8 and is mostly pneumatic. u Two drum with steel cable. u Throttle control used a foot pedal.

U.S. AIR FORCE A U X I L I A R Y Winch operation u 16 months and 150 hrs. u Most glider operations on Tuesday afternoons, which net us about 3 hrs. before sundown. About 6 launches per hr. u 35 days of winch operations netted 394 flights. u Just started using the winch for O-rides. u The use of two gliders on winch operation day just started. We see and increase of 2 to 3 launches per hr. u All for low cost.
