Caring For Rope AA good rope is expensive and should not be handled carelessly. KK eep it clean and free of mud or grease. If it is damp, do not coil or store it until it is thoroughly dried out. AA lways keep it in a dry place. It should never be thrown into a corner to tangle and kink. WW hen a job is finished, the rope should be placed where it will be available instantly, if necessary, and should be coiled so that it will pay out smoothly when needed.

Marlinspike TT o make a ladder AA lso used to make a loop in the guideline when building flagpole.
Timber Hitch TT o tie a rope to a log and drag it.
Round Turn 2 Half Hitch TT o tie a rope to a tree trunk when you want to prevent something from escaping on the other end of the rope.
