A RESEARCH COLLABORATION: PICEANCE BASIN WILDLIFE AND HABITAT STUDIES 2010 West Slope Colorado Oil & Gas Association Environmental Summit
Cooperative Agreement Objectives Jointly study The potential effects of hydrocarbon development and extraction on wildlife and their supporting habitat; and The most efficient mitigation measures to reduce identified impacts on wildlife and associated habitat. Agreement began summer 2010 and continues thru Dec. 2014

Cooperative Agreement Structure Executive Committee involving a rep from Exxon Mobile, CDOW, and CSU that reviews and recommends Enhanced Studies in the Piceance Basin annually based on criteria as they relate to achieving the Objectives and: (1) Peer reviewable (2) Science based (3) Efficient use of resources deployed (4) Focus on addressing identified issues
Study Coordinator CSU is responsible for administering the Enhanced Studies, which involves contracts within CSU and externally as subcontracts to CDOW as well as and responsible for coordinating with Study Managers of approved studies.
Reporting, Sharing, and Publication of Studies Each year study managers provide a report that is shared with executive committee Results can be published after completion of the study with time for review by each party
2010 Enhanced Studies 1) Population Response of Mule Deer to Natural Gas Resource Extraction and Associated Mitigation Approaches 2) Mule Deer Movement Behavior in Response to Natural Gas Resource Extraction 3) Lek-Based Monitoring Of Greater Sage-Grouse Sage Grouse 4) Evaluation Of Fetal And Neonatal Survival Of Mule Deer
