Happy Wednesday my “revising” 6 th graders Write the agenda in your planner. Get the essay analysis and a piece of index card off the cart. o Put your name, period and number 1 – 4 o Answer on the card only. You need to have your rough draft out and ready to be looked at when asked for.

RADaR – what we use. Replace Add Delete and Reorder

RADaR Replace any pronouns that switch back and forth. o Example: Ryan ran down the street. He stopped for a breath. She nearly fainted. The HE needs to stay HE. Replace verbs with more vivid action verbs. o He ran down the street. He bolted down the street. Add setting details to help with time and space. Add dialogue or characters thoughts that strengthen the story. Add transitions Delete any unnecessary actions or dialogue that does not help the story. Reorder events if necessary

Editing Use the checklist that is on the table as a guide to editing your paper. You need a green pencil, pen or map color and a highlighter.
