The location of the northwest coast is from Alaska to California. This region is south of the Inuit's’ ice fields.

The climate is mostly mild but experiences heavy rainfall. Since the rain is so heavy, the women make coats, hats, and other clothes that are made from waterproof cedar bark.

The American Indians of the northwest ate fish often because they lived around the big ocean where they could easily catch fish. They also ate deer and elk.

The American Indians of the Northwest made different shelters for each season. They made their homes on rocky beaches near them. They built large wooden structures for houses.

The American Indians of the Northwest used cedar bark for many things. Some of their other resources were wood, water, and grass. They used these thing to make all kinds of structures.

They would always build things, so they could survive. They built things like nets, houses etc. They would make a living out of every thing they had.
