II. EVOLUTION OF THE PROJECT Subvention Idea Source Contract The project starts…

Major results  July 29, Minister of National Development – ordering letter Source: KÖZOP „Improvement of access to areas”  May 15, Conclusion of Contracts of support for Project 2 KÖZOP „Preparation of ceasing of dangerous junctions” KÖZOP „Developments improving the security of traffic in the national network of public roads”  October 5, MK KözOP- approval of the rule for calculation of specific production cost Project management costs Installation of guardrails by our own implementation Provisory traffic techniques during the construction by our own implementation  November of The feasibility studies are ready  October 20, Reception of project proposal III. TRAFFIC SECURITY PROJECTS OF MK NZRT.  March 28,2012. Governemental decision – position of outstanding project

IV. Presentation of the preparatory project Why the roundabout? Better recognition Better recognition Favo u rable flow of traffic Less points of conflict s Favo u rable flow of traffic Less points of conflict s Lower speed Lower speed In total : HIGHER SEC U RITY In total : HIGHER SEC U RITY

Fejlesztésre javasolt helyszínek IV. Presentation of the preparatory project Plan making Plan making Authorization Authorization Execution plans Execution plans Acquisition of territory (if necessary) Acquisition of territory (if necessary) Archeology (if necessary) Archeology (if necessary)

Examined parameters Current geometric formation Situation of accidents (2007 – 2011), traffic conditions Expected decrease in the number of accidents Estimated investment & operating costs Foreign territory involvement Territory involvement of Natura 2000 Involvement due to archeological values Other external effects Economic efficiency indicators (Net current value, profit-cost rate, inner rate of return) IV. Presentation of the preparatory project

Junction of main road no.471. and road Especially dangerous site, i n total 21 traffic accidents with personal injuries occurred in the junction and surroundings in the examined period The relative accident indicator of the site c alculated onto the junction is 11,39 [b/10 7 jmkm/year]

Junction of main road no and road no In case of rebuilding the junction, R b =10 m inner radius and R k =17 m outside radius of roundabout is recommended IV. Presentation of the preparatory project

Junction of Main road no. 62. – Road s (M7 sub- junction) Examined site at half-trefoil junction of Motorway M7, and tree-branches „T” junction with traffic sign regulation of the second class road no. 62. The relative accident indicator of the place calculated onto the junction is [9,01 b/10 7 jmkm/year] IV. Presentation of the preparatory project

62. sz. főút – j. út (M7 alcsomópont) csomópontja In case of rebuilding the junction, it is recommended to build a roundabout of R b =15 m inner radius and R k =23,5 m of exterior radius IV. Presentation of the preparatory project

Traffic safety deficiencies It is hard to recognize and perceive the junction, the view of the straight passing is prevailing from the side-direction, too. The left turning lane is used for irregular overtaking IV. Presentation of the preparatory project

The geometric shaping of the junctions, the built-up of independent turning left lanes from all directions and the „guiding” effect of the electricity pylons help the progression at high speed The acute angle connecting of the main direction and of the sub-direction is especially unfavourable, both from the aspect of perception and from the aspect of providing an adequate associated line Traffic safety deficiencies IV. Presentation of the preparatory project
