 Human trafficking is modern day slavery.  It is the sale of human beings for the profit of others.  More than one person suffers from being brutally trafficked every minute around the world.

 "the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring or receipt of persons, by means of threat, use of force or other means of coercion, of abduction, of fraud, of deception, of the abuse of power or of a position of vulnerability or of the receiving or giving of payment… to a person having control over another person, for the purpose of exploitation."

 Over 27 Million people are trafficked today  A multi-billion dollar industry almost equal to the drug and illegal arms trade  Women and children are among the highest percentage trafficked

 Un-voluntary Sex Slavery  Forced Labor  Debt Bondage  Child Soldiers

 Over 1 Million people have been trafficked from Eastern Europe  100,000 Eastern European girls have been sold into the sex trade

 Phony job offers abroad  Payments to orphanages for the 15 & 16 year old girls  Abductions  False advertising

 Documents are taken away  Beaten into submission  Forced to work or your life (or the lives of your loved ones at home) is threatened  Live in desperation
