Study Area Boundary
Study Purpose: Analyze existing and future traffic conditions along the Issaquah-Hobart Road Corridor Develop short & long term Transportation project recommendations, consistent with Comprehensive Plan policy direction Use a new subarea traffic model to test different “what if” scenarios Establish an Interagency Technical Advisory committee to help finalize recommendations
Current Conditions and Issues Issaquah-Hobart Road functions as an Urban Connector with unique rural characteristics Frequent accidents along entire length of Issaquah- Hobart Road Safety/parking issues near hang-glider area Slow-moving commute traffic Intersection delay at SE May Valley Road & Cedar Grove Road intersections Fifteen mile creek bridge needs replacement

Project Recommendations - Short term Install No Parking signs near Hang Glider Park Install traffic cameras at Cedar Grove Road and May Valley Road intersections to monitor traffic conditions Install digital message sign near SE Mirrormont Blvd Interconnect signals at Cedar Grove Road and May Valley Road to allow intersections to be controlled at traffic center Review for possible new warning signs at high accident locations
Initial Project Recommendations – Long term Complete SR-18 widening from Issaquah-Hobart Road to I-90 Replace Fifteen mile creek Bridge Expand existing Hang glider parking lot Construct roundabouts at intersections with May Valley Road & Cedar Grove Road Improve channelization from May Valley Road to Issaquah City Limits Install fiber optics, flood sensors and weather station in the corridor
Next steps Work to include project recommendations in our Six Year Capital Improvement Program Work with local jurisdictions and UACs to address other SE King County traffic needs
