DESIGNING CONCEPT INNOVATION PRODUCT : PEPPER SPRAY Basic design : 3D solid rectangle container (RECYCLED) Attached elements :  Nozzle with tube  Pump  Battery pack  Switch  Light emitting diode  Circuit ( wires, connectors)  Two metal strips  Casing

Main body – Reused 3D solid rectangular container For this project, the base of it was a reused 3D solid rectangular container. The attributes are as follows :  Degree of opacity : High  Level of hardness : Tough  Material : Plastic  Location of cap : Top of container  Number of surfaces : Six, Chamfered corners  Colour : Pink with designated flowers

Side elements Nozzle with plastic tube  A monoholed nozzle is fixed into tube  Attached to the container through holes drilled on the container  Directly connected to the pump  Acts as a passageway for chemical to flow  Nozzle projects chemical

Pump  12 volts  Runs on battery power  medium of propagation for the chemical flow  Battery  9.6 volts  Contained in a yellow pack  Powers the pump for chemical flow

Switch  attached in a casing  part of the built- in circuit connecting the light emitting diode  indicates whether the pump is functioning when switched on

Light Emitting Diode ( L.E.D)  Colour – green  Lights up when circuit is closed  Indicator of the whole working mechanism of the spray  part of the circuit

Circuit  Connects the whole electrical part of the mechanism  Main parts are connectors and wires(red and black which indicates positive and negative)  Current flows in this pathway and activates pump and L.E.D

Metal strips  Taser funtion when connected to the circuit to produce small voltage.  When human touch is in contact, electric is produced and criminal is electrocuted. Casing  shape – Square(1 unit) and rectangle(1 unit)  Material – perspex  square casing holds circuit in place and provides seating for switch and L.E.D  rectangle casing holds battery pack(bottom of container)

Concept Product is assembled with the main parts and subparts. On the front part of the container, the square casing holds the switch,L.E.D and the wires. Nozzle is placed on top of the containerof the container(in the center position),tube is inserted into the container Battery pack is placed below and with pump attached Metal strips are positoned on the back part of the container

Mechanism ( How it works ?) Firstly, upon attack, user presses the switch. Upon this, L.E.D should light up(indicates a working circuit). The circuit is then closed and pump is activated. Besides, along with the pump the taser function(metal strips) is activated as well Chemical will then flow through the tube and is shot out of the nozzle at least 4 metres in range. Switch is pressed again to stop chemical projection (circuit is open).
