 SAM Introduction and Overview  How to Register or Migrate CCR (Legacy) Account in SAM  Training Video (s)  FAQ  Federal Service Help Desk (FSD.gov)  Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF)  Trends in Government Contracting  Q&A

*The System for Award Management (SAM) is combining federal procurement systems and the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance into one new system. This consolidation is being done in phases. The first phase of SAM which began late July 2012 included the functionality from the following systems: Central Contractor Registry (CCR) Federal Agency Registration (Fedreg) Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) Excluded Parties List System (EPLS)

 Central Contractor Registry (CCR)  CAGE Code - Commercial And Government Entity (CAGE) Code is a five-character ID number used extensively within the federal government, assigned by the Department of Defense’s Defense Logistics Agency (DLA)  Online Representations and Certifications (ORCA)

 Create a New User Account  Register as a New Entity OR  Migrate a Legacy Account (if you had a previous registration in CCR or ORCA)

An Individual account: Contains your own personal information. May stay with you even when your role in your organization or the permissions you need to do your job change. Just because you have an account does not mean you have the ability to create or edit records, to do those activities you must have roles. With an account, Federal Government employees can also request access to view sensitive data through search or extracts. A System account: Represents a particular information technology (IT) system. Is primarily for systems which need to send data to SAM (such as a Federal Government contract writing system) or wish to automate the pull of the data through extracts or web services. Is useful if multiple users in your organization need to access the same extract or web service.

Migrating Your Legacy Systems SAM.gov HELP

 What is a DUNS number and how do I obtain one?  How do I confirm my information is accurate and up-to-date in SAM?  The only person with access to our CCR information was our DOS/GM/Former Sales Manager who is no longer with our company. How do I go about getting our information reactivated?

A DFARS rule change was made on March 03, 2008, mandating contractors utilize the Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF) system as the only acceptable system for submission and processing of payment requests (Invoices and Receiving Reports) under DoD contracts.

 Use of FedBid.com df774dd29&tab=core&_cview=1  Small Business Set Asides $30 Million Threshold for  Government ‐ Wide Contracting Goals *Small Business–Goal 23% *Women–Goal 5% *Small Disadvantaged Businesses–Goal 5% *Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses–Goal 3% *HUBZones– Goal 3% (Historically Underutilized Business Zones)

 Third-party contractors  Short-term booking windows  Contracting Officers have more pull in the decision making process Major Factors: Price and Location Best Value Proposition for the Government
