PREPARE FOR SPIRITUAL BATTLE

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he

cares for you. Be self- controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.” 1 Peter 5:6-9

Prerequisites for Engaging In Spiritual Battle

1. We must know we are in a war.

2. We must know we are in a war we can’t win.

“Put on all of God's armor so that you will be able to stand firm against the strategies and tricks of Satan. For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against persons without bodies -

the evil rulers of the unseen world, those mighty satanic beings and great evil princes of darkness who rule this world; and against huge numbers of wicked spirits in the spirit world." Eph 6:12

Messengers of Satan are real today.

The doctrines of demons lead us into slavery as they destroy our minds and hearts. (1Timothy 4:1-3)

This whole world we live in is under his power. (John 12:31; 14:30; 1 John 5:19)

We assume he leaves Christians alone, but as Peter says Satan is walking about as a roaring lion seeking to devour us. (1 Peter 5:8)

3. Only God’s power can overcome the forces of evil.
