POLITICAL CARTOONS AND CARTOON STRIPS

Metaphor – suggesting a likeness between two things. Example- The frustration that buyers have is an oil gusher!

Exaggeration – to enlarge beyond the bounds of the truth. Example – The gas prices in this add are overstated to the point of not even paying with money (paying with something much more important )

Irony: Quirk of fate; a type of humor based on using words to suggest the opposite of their literal meaning.
