Fit to Learn Using the Employability Skills Framework to improve your performance at College The Employability Skills Framework has been developed by business across North Lincolnshire in collaboration with the Confederation of British Industry. The framework identifies seven skills that you will need to display in order to ensure effective transition into higher study, apprenticeships or employment: Self Management – Teamwork – Business & Customer Awareness – Problem Solving – Communication & Literacy – Application of Numeracy – Application of Information Technology By reflecting on how you can improve with respect to these seven skills, you can also improve your performance in your current studies. Fit to Learn Self Management Evaluates Applies Instructed Has drive for additional knowledge and development Sets high personal standards and has a positive personal impact Retains composure and control even in difficult circumstances Self confident – shows belief in own ability Consistently high standards of time management, behaviour and presentation; minor lapses Realistic assessment of own abilities and able to plan and take responsibility for own development. Takes personal ownership and control. Can relate past events and link past experiences to current problems. Able to break problems down into manageable parts, identifying key factors. Able to deal readily with a range of numerical and written information and options available. Makes sound decisions based on a balanced consideration of information and options available. Can make connections between causes and symptoms. With support can break problems down into key elements. Basic ability to cope with a range of information and figures. Prefers others to make decisions but is willing to make own decisions in a limited range.
