Annotation Almost all good students annotate while they read. – What is annotation? Basically, annotation is note taking and marking up the text. In other words, you take notes directly on the text!

Basic Annotation Step one, is to number every paragraph.

Basic Annotation Cont… As you are reading, circle any words that are unfamiliar or that are specific to the subject.
