A Savior You Can Depend On John 14:1-6

Believers are promised peace (1) n We need not fear the future. n However, we need not wait for the future to experience peace! n Here faith is presented as the key to peace (v. 1, cf. 1 John 5:4). n In fact, this is the only sure source of peace.

Believers are promised a prepared place (2-3) n There is plenty of room for all (Rev. 21). n How does this place compare with the mansions of this life? –We long for mansions here when our true home is supposed to be there! (Phil. 3:20). –Abraham got this (Heb. 11:9-10). n The place Jesus promises is worth aspiring to!

Believers are promised a path to the place (4-6) n Thomas is concerned about being able to find the place - a legitimate concern. –Jesus said that they already knew the way. –The way is not a road, it is a person – Jesus. –He does not expect us to get there on our own, he is coming to get us! n We are often insecure when we travel to unfamiliar places. n Knowing Jesus gives us confidence to make our spiritual journey.

Challenges for today n Recognize Jesus as the way. n Be willing to travel his way. n See the landmarks along the way. –Truth –Life n Enjoy the journey!
