Thomas Jefferson By Ryan Murray

Thomas Jefferson He was the first president inaugurated in Washington D.C. Marine band played first at his inauguration. This band has played at every other presidential inauguration.

Thomas Jefferson His election was the first time that political power successfully changed from one party to the other. It was a very chaotic election in which John Adams was so bitter at his defeat he didn’t even stay for Jeffersons Inauguration.

Thomas Jefferson Marbury vs. Madison case was the first time that judicial review was ever used in our country. This court case was caused by John Adams naming 42 justices that he knew would annoy Jefferson. The court ruled in favor of Madison.

Thomas Jefferson Jefferson was the president that bought the entire Louisiana territory. After he bought it he sent Meriwether Lewis and Willam Clark to explore the newly bought land.

Thomas Jefferson Jefferson was the person that repealed the Alien and sedition Acts. These were four bills passed in 1798 by the Federalists. This was the bill that John Adams had Passed.
