Characters Mary Alice Joey Grandma Dowdel Mary Alice is the youngest child and loves to jump rope and also loves to tap dance. She is not very adventurous, but is sometimes the leader. Joey Joey is the oldest child and is the couragous one. He is a wild one and always listens to what people say. (unlike Mary Alice) Grandma Dowdel She is a liar but always lies for a good cause. She is very unique in her own way.

1929 Everyone thought that Shotgun Cheatham had passed away. Reporters came to people’s house and asked them about his death. One day, a reporter came to Grandma Dowdel’s house to watch the funeral of Shotgun Cheatham. Grandma was getting annoyed and played a trick on everyone and put her cat in the coffin. The cat started to play in the coffin and make it look like Shotgun Cheatham was coming alive again.

Problem The problem was that Shotgun Cheatham had died and all the reporters were coming to people’s houses to ask questions and annoy everyone.

Solution The solution that Grandma used was she lied to the reporter to make him scared. Instead of lying, she could have put a sign that says, DO NOT DISTURB!
