The MCC Junior Golf Academy JUNIOR GOLF 2011 SCHEDULE Purpose of the Junior Golf Academy The instruction will consist of making sure each junior has the necessary fundamentals to begin enjoying the game. We will reinforce the basic fundamentals while adding in aspects to begin swinging on a consistent path. The key is creating enjoyment for the junior while offering encouragement, rules, etiquette of the game, and games. Juniors are encouraged to practice and play throughout the week and maintain a golfing journal which will be handed to them their first day of class. The journal will be utilized as a tool for students to realize improvement throughout all facets of their game. Upon completing the season, golfers will have built a strong foundation for their golf games, learn their tendencies, experience competition/games and most of all, enjoy playing the game of golf. The Junior Golf Academy will run from June 21st to 23rd, 2011; 8am – 10am. On behalf of MeadowBrook Country Club and the Professional Staff, we would like to invite you to join us for the 2011 Junior Golf Academy. The MCC Junior Golf Academy is open to MeadowBrook juniors ages Extended family and friends are welcome to participate for an additional $20. Golfers will be divided by age and skill level. Instructors will include Bobby Hadden, Todd Kinnikin, and Blake Henderson. Our goal is to start junior golfers in the 2011 Golf Academy, so that young golfers can grow and mature ad a person and a golfer, throughout the years to come. Students will learn how golf etiquette shapes the game and how much enjoyment the game can provide. After golfers feel comfortable with their skill level, we highly encourage them to play with other golfers to share and enjoy a game that can be played for a lifetime. This brochure includes the details of our program with dates, times and events. Dress Code: No denim or cutoff jeans allowed. Walking shorts or Bermuda shorts may be worn. Boys must wear a shirt with collar and sleeves. Girls must wear a shirt with a collar or sleeves. Soft Spike golf shoes or tennis shoes are allowed. This additional learning experience will provide competitive golfers a fresh outlook on how to compete at a highly competitively level. Areas of focus include: a competitive look at the game, strategic development of their swing and new approaches to the game. This segment of the Academy is June 28 th – June 30 th ; 8 – 10am, and comes at an additional cost of $20. Weekly 1 Hour Learning Session Also included in the program is a weekly 1 hour learning session. Each session will provide a different golf experience, such as competitions, playing, and golf course management scenarios. This program will run every Thursday night, 5:30 to 6:30, June 23rd through August 4th. This opportunity, which spans over an 8 week time period, provide the student a consistent learning experience, as well as providing time for students to spend more time with each other on the golf course.
