Chinese Emperors By Sara Kelmendi

Introduction There are 2 famous emperors Shunzhi and Kangxi. They are 2 related emperors, Shunzhi is Kangxi’s father.To learn more about these 2 related emperors come readmore and learn more!!!

Shunzhi The emperor Shunzhi is pronounced Sun – Chih. Shunzhi is the third emperor of Qing Dynasty. Shunzhi’s temple name is Miaohao. Shunzhi’s surname is Asin Gioro. Shunzhi was born on March 15 th, and he died at age Shunzhi was the ninth son of Huang Taiji.

Being Throned to the Castle Shunzhi ruled the castle from 1641 – He ruled for the shortest emperor region. Shunzhi was chosen emperor when he was 5 so he can take replace of his father Huang Taiji. Shunzhi died at age 22 because of a disease called Smallpox. Then Shunzhi’s third son Kangxi who was the only one who survived Smallpox entered the throne.

What did Shunzhi do as Emperor During Shunzhi’s short reign he made a decision of plenty of policies. He chose Han Chinese to be the imperial officials. Also, he put the upper 3 banners ( plain yellow, striped yellow, and plain white) under the control of the emperor. Shunzhi emperor participated in government activities.

(continued) Life In 1643, Shunzhi emperor is 6 and he receives Huang Taiji’s throne. Prince Dorgan becomes a ruler. In 1644, the Manchu armies conquer the north of China. The capital is changed to Beijing. In 1650, Prince Dorgan dies. Shunzhi emperor gets actual power. From 1651 to 1661, Shunzhi emperor deals with government concerns. In order to bring together a common purpose to the country, he also sends armies to invade the south of China. In 1661, the emperor dies of Smallpox.

What did Shunzhi Change as Emperor Shunzhi did his best to be a good emperor. From 1643 to 1650 political power lay mostly in the hands of Dorgan. China had very unpopular policies like the haircutting command from 1650, which forced people to shave their forehead and braid their leftover hair. After Dorgan died on the last day of the year 1650, Shunzhi started to rule personally. Shunzhi tried to fight corrupiton.

Kangxi Kangxi Khng- Shee is the fourth emperor of Qing Dynasty. Kangxi reigon of 61 years makes him the longest ruling chinese emperor in history. Kangxi ruled from 1661 to Kangxi birthday is May 4 th Kangxi was originally gave the name Xuanye. Kangxi full name is Ai Xin Jue Luo Xuan Ye. Kangxi temple is name Miaohao. Kangxi had 35 sons, but only 20 survived. Their names are Yinzhi now Prince Cheng, Yinzhi, Yongzheng emperor, Yunli, Yunsi, Yunreng, Yinli now Prince Guo, Yinxiang now Prince Yi, Yinreng, Yinxiang, Yinsi now Prince Licln, Yinti, Yintang, Yunti.

What did Kangxi do as emperor Kangxi was one of the fewest emperors in chinese history that loved to read and to learn. At age 5, he had been already taught to read and write, and he studied full of concentration. He loved to do calligraphy, and he wrote thousands of words, daily as practice. He studied four books of Confucianism, which is great learning, the Doctrine of Mean, The Analects of Confucius, and The Mencius. He made sure to remember each charcter of each book by heart. Later he made his sons read these books all the time and he made sure they memorize them.

What Kangxi changed as emperor As an emperor Kangxi listed 2 things of concern.
