Emerging Public Health Infrastructure: Existing players, new coordination framework District Level –8 DHHS Districts and 1 Tribal Public Health district District Coordinating Councils (DCCs) District Public Health Units (MCDC) District Liaisons (MCDC-OLPH) Tribal Liaisons: serve the tribal district, collaborate with partners in the Aroostook, Penquis and Downeast Districts –Healthy Maine Partnerships 28 total state-wide (2-6 per district) Specific core public health functions—community mobilization, chronic disease prevention

The Tribal District encompasses Maine’s four federally- recognized Tribes
