Sept. 4 Meeting Planning o The meeting in Portland, Or will be led by Tribes and focused on Tribal and First Nations topics. o The Tribes / First Nations Committee is planning this meeting, with support from the NPLCC as needed. While planning is ongoing, the meeting format will include ample time for discussion and will most likely include presentations and speakers on relevant topics. o Possible agenda items include:

What is the NPLCC and what support can it provide for Tribes and First Nations?

Review of federal climate change programs (science, adaptation, collaboration) in the region

Tribal experience working with the NPLCC: what is working, what is not, and ways forward

Recommendations to the NPLCC about how to work with Tribes and First Nations and on traditional ecological knowledge

Identify areas of progress or success to help the NPLCC achieve its goals and objectives
