polygamy – n.- The condition or practice of having more than one spouse at one time.

coerce – tr. v - To force to act or think in a certain way by use of pressure, threats, or intimidation; compel. To dominate, restrain or control forcibly.

imbibe – v.- To drink. To absorb or take in as if by drinking. To receive and absorb into the mind.

mesmerize – tr. v.- To spellbind; enthrall. To hypnotize.

ravenous – adj.Extremely hungry; voracious.

seismograph – n. - An instrument for detecting and recording the intensity, direction, and duration of a movement of the ground, esp. of an earthquake.

perpendicular – adj.Intersecting at or forming right angles.

adamant – adj. - Impervious to pleas or reason; stubbornly unyielding.

tinge – adj. - To apply a trace of color to; tint. To affect slightly, as with a contrasting quality.
