ACADEMIC PERSONAL SOCIAL CHARACTER EDUCATION CAREER

WOLVERINE WEDNESDAY Woodstock High School has had a TAA program for several years that met 6-7 times each year. This year we expanded the program to meet weekly and renamed it Wolverine Wednesday. The purpose of the Wolverine Wednesday program is to increase academic achievement and the graduation rate by providing integrated thematic lessons centered on the needs of specific grade levels. The program provides relevance and academic focus for each grade level and hopes to facilitates school involvement and character development.

PROGRAM STRUCTURE Advisement groups will meet weekly on Wednesdays after first period for 30 minute sessions. Many lessons will be customized to specific grade levels and several will be whole school lessons. Students will be asked to complete 2 assessments each semester in order to earn.5 credit at the end of the year.

PROGRAM STRUCTURE cont. Assessments will be taken using Moodle. Assessments can be taken at school or at home.

PROGRAM STRUCTURE cont. The Wolverine Wednesday program is a Pass or Fail program. This means that if students do the work they will pass and receive a “P” on their transcript. If students do not do the work they will receive an “F” on their transcript. This means everyone NO EXCEPTIONS

MISSION The Wolverine Wednesday program is linked to our school mission statement and our school belief statements. It is designed to help WHS fulfill its mission to “Raise the Bar” for all students in all aspects of school life.

WOLVERINE WEDNESDAY WOLVERINE WEDNESDAY GOALS Increase academic achievement through thematic grade level specific lessons. Provide information through advisors that will assist students in making better academic, career and personal decisions. Provide an additional layer of support for students.

LEADERSHIP AND DESIGN The leadership/design team of the Wolverine Wednesday Program includes 7 teachers, one counselor and input from students who were appointed by the principal. The teachers/students represent different grade levels and content areas. The team meets at regular intervals to assess progress and to modify and enhance programs and topics as needed.

ACCESSING LESSONS All lessons are placed on the intranet/internet. Moodle will be the delivery platform used for this program. Moodle can be accessed from school or home.
