Hinduism  Ancient India’s religion  Made three thousand years ago  Two main gods, Vishnu and Shiva  Over 600 million Indians are Hindus  Perform daily purifying rituals called pujas EXIT

Islam Muslim religion -Follow the prophet Muhammad -Muhammad was inspired by “Allah”, God -Their holy book is called the Koran -India has one of the largest populations of Muslims in the world. -Have five duties: to pray 5 times a day, to worship at their mosque every Friday, pray facing Mecca, celebrate Ramadan, and make pilgrimage to Mecca at least once. Sikhism  Founded by in the sixteenth century ago by Guru Nanak who was a wandering holy man  They worship one God  Believe that all people should live and worship together as equals EXIT

Buddhism  Founded by Siddhartha Gautama in the fifth century, B.C.  He became Buddha or the “Awakened One”  He preached all over India  Buddhists believe in reincarnation and meditation EXIT
