COURSE ORIENTATION COURSE NO ANATOMY HISTOLOGY & EMBRYOLOGY

THE CREDIT HOURS COURSE NO HAS THE FOLLOWING CREDIT HOURS 3+2. LECTURE HOURS PER WEEK = 3. PRACTICAL HOURS PER WEEK =2. EACH LECTURE IS 1 HOUR DURATION,WHERE AS LABORATORY DURATION IS 2 HOURS. ROUGHLY DURING SEMESTER 1, 50 HOURS OF LECTURES AND 60 HOURS OF PRACTICALS ARE THERE.

THE FOLLOWING SYSTEMS/REGIONS ARE DEALT DURING SEMESTER 1 BASIC CONCEPTS …3 LECTURES+2PRACTICALS. UPPER LIMB…12 LECTURES + 8 PRACTICALS. LOWER LIMB…6 LECTURES + 4 PRACTICALS. GIT SYSTEM…15 LECTURES + 10 PRACTICALS.

RESPIRATORY SYSTEM…6 LECTURES+4 PRACTICALS. CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM…7LECTURES+4 PRACTICALS. THE COURSE IS 16 WEEKS DURATION PER SEMESTER.

ACTIVITY IN HISTOLOGY LABORATORY GENERAL HISTOLOGY & CONCERNED SYSTEMIC HISTOLOGY …DURATION OF EACH SESSION +2 HOURS. PRELAB TEACHING 20 MINUTES FOLLOWED BY OBSERVATION OF SLIDES USING MICROSCOPES. SIMULTANEOUS RECORD WORK IS DONE BY STUDENTS.AND TESTIFIED BY FACULTY ON THE SAME DAY. LAST 20 MINUTES RESERVED FOR STAF /STUDENT INTERACTION ON HISTOLOGY SLIDES.

OSTEOLOGY DEMONSTRATION PARALLELS WITH THE DISSECTION EXERCISES. THE CONCERNED OSTEOLOGY IS TAUGHT DURING DISSECTION OF THE RELATED REGION. Eg. UPPER LIMB..SCAPULA. CASE BASED LEARNING EXERCISE WILL BE TAKEN AS AND WHEN IT IS REQUIRED DURING DISSECTION HOURS.

IMAGING STUDIES RADIOLOGICAL ANATOMY WILL BE TAUGHT WITH THE HELP OF PLAIN /CONTRAST RADIOGRAPHS& CT SCANS AND MRI WILL BE SHOWN,STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO INTERPRET THESE IMAGES DURING EXAMS AND REGULAR EXERCISES.

SURFACE ANATOMY IT WILL BE DEMONSTRATED ON CADAVER/LIVING BODY/MANIQUINS AS AND WHEN REQUIRED AND ALSO AT THE END OF THE SYSTEM. THE STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO DEMONSTRATE THIS SKILL DURING ALL EXAMINATIONS,AND MARKS WILL BE AWARDED FOR INTERNAL ASSESSMENT.

DOS AND DONTS OBSERVE IN PRACTICAL LABS. DOS MUST ENTER THE LABS. ON TIME. MUST WEAR CLEAN APRON. APRONS MUST BE BUTTONED. FOR GIRL STUDENTS HAIRS SHOULD BE TIED AND KEPT INSIDE THE APRON. PROPER FOOT WEAR SHOULD BE WORN(SHOES). CUNNING HAM PRACTRICAL MANUAL MUST BE BROUGHT IN LAB/HISTOLOGY RECORD AND ATLAS.

DON’T S IN LABS. NO CELL PHONES. NO EATING/DRINKING. NO CHATTING/LAUGHING./NO LOUD NOISE ALLOWED. DONOT LEAVE THE LAB WITH OUT PERMISSION, IF VIOLATE NO ATTENDENCE WILL BE GIVEN. NO SINGING/NO PHOTOGRAPHY.

INTEGRATED EXAMS AFTER THE END OF EACH SYSTEM THERE WILL BE INTEGRATED SYSTEM BASED THEORY AND PRACTICAL EXAMINATIONS. THESE MARKS OBTAINED BY THE STUDENTS ARE TAKEN FOR THERE INTERNAL ASSESSMENT. THE MODE OF EXAMS IS MCQS/R.R.E. FOE THEORY. AND INTEGRATED OSPE.

IN THIS SEMESTER MINIMUM THREE INTERNAL EXAMINATIONS WILL BE CONDUCTED. MARKS WILL BE CONVERTED IN THE FORM OF GRADES AND GRADE POINTS. RESULTS WILL BE INTIMATED INDIVIDUALLY.

EMBRYOLOGY PER WEEK ONE LECTURE OF GENERAL EMBRYOLOGY WILL BE TAKEN. SYSTEMIC EMBRYOLOGY WILL BE TAKEN AS AND WHEN REQUIRED. EMBRYOLOGY MODELS AND CHARTS WILL BE KEPT FOR INTERPRETATION BY THE STUDENTS IN THE LB.

ALL THE BEST FROM ALL THE STAFF OF ANATOMY DEPARTMENT THANK YOU
