Requirements – work chair
Safety requirements – work chair 1) Chair shall be designed as to minimize the risk of injury to the user. 2) All parts of the chair with which user comes into contact during the use shall be so designed that physical injury and damage to property are avoided.
Requirements are met when: A) The safety dostance of acessiable movable parts is either ≤ 8 mm or ≥ 25 mm in any position during movement B) Acessiable corners are rounded with minimum 2 mm radius C) The edges of the seat, back rest and arm rest which are in contact with user when sitting in the chair are rounded with minimum 2 mm radius
Requirements are met when: D) The edges of handles are rounded with minimum 2 mm radius in the direction of the force applied E) All other edges are free from burrs and rounded or chamfered F) The end of acessiable hollow components are closed or capped

Requirements are met when: A) Edges of seat, back rest and arm rest which are in contact with user when sitting in the seating are rounded or chamfered and all other edges acessible during use are free from burrs and/or sharp edges B) Ends of hollow components are closed or capped
Requirements are met when: C) Movable and adjustable parts shall be designed so that injuries and inadvertent operation are avoided. It shall not be possible for any load bearing part of the seating to come loose unintentionally. D) All parts that are lubricated to assist sliding shall be designed to protect users from lubricant stains when in normal use.
