CROSS BORDER COOPERATION BETWEEN REGIONS IN LATVIA AND ROMANIA TO IMPROVE EDUCATIONAL OFFER Coaction Jekabpils municipality Vulcana Bai municipality

General objective  To cooperate between regions  To work on common problems in different counties  To strengthen European dimension in education

Specific objectives  To establish local networks in each partner institution;  To obtain new experience and examples or good practice organizing 24 international mobilities by each partner;  To do research/study work to identify problems in formal, informal education, to work out quidelines for staff, decision makers, teachers, parents;  Raising professional competences, IT and English language skill of staff, for eg, staff of local authorities, decision makers, teachers etc;  Activities improving dialogue between pupils, parents, schools organizing summer camps;  Result dissemination through movable exhibition, publications, seminars, conference, publicity materials;  Ensuring qualitative implementation of the project through management, monitoring, evaluation, publicity.

Common tasks  To promote European dimension in schools through collaboration with local authorities strengthening link between formal and informal education.  To share best practice experience amongst local and international partners – good principles of governance.  To promote school management process based on activation of effective use of local resources and highlight importance of teacher’s role  To raise teachers’ professional competences in work with children and families at risk groups, to promote their social inclusion  To improve participants’ IT and language skills through presentation, events, learning activities etc.  To improve teaching/learning process, to get better approach about dialogue among school, pupils, parents.

Project management and communication  Give time for debate and reflection and fostering new actions for collaboration between the working field and the education,  Work out evaluation tools,  Coordinate national and transactional dissemination plan  Preparing progress reports and analysis of project implementation progress,  Organise working team meetings,  Coordinate activities and inform persons or groups within each municipality before international meetings.

Dissemination and use of results  Partner organisations are working independently, at the same time sharing the information.  Materials are developed by each partner locally, they deliver to their staff and community, neighbouring municipalities through schools, libraries, culture centres.  Local partners have been disseminating the project materials to their members through local events.  The project title and logo are used.  Local exhibitions and events are organised to show community the impact and outcomes of the project.  Brochure about PPS dialogue will be published by both regional partners.

Dissemination and use of results  Local partner’s meetings are regularly organised.  Publications will be available through printed materials, websites of authorities, created materials, blog of the project.  Reports are written, locally and nationally which act as the dissemination tool. Presentations are created to demonstrate the results.  Progress of the project is reflected through partners’ websites, local, regional mass media.  Working/implementation teams are responsible for disseminations of results.  The project results are available for other municipalities, schools, informal education providers through publications, publicity materials, project blog, websites of partner’s’ establishments.

Integration of movable exhibitions – “Local culture as basement of balanced education” in school work. Teachers, trainers, school children, representatives from culture centers, libraries are expected to be involved. Exhibition is planned to be exposed in public places within territory of municipality and also outside it.
