Mandate of Heaven Will of the gods, the Mandate of Heaven determines if a dynasty stays in power Will stay in power as long as the leaders are good Dynastic Cycle: If people are overtaxed, people are not protected, if there is injustice—government loses mandate Then there would be natural disasters, revolts, invaders New Dynasty comes in with Mandate of Heaven Peace and Harmony

Contribution #1. Great Wall of China The Great Wall of China was built for protection from the northern nomadic tribes and other enemies. The first wall was made from dirt mounds but the wall we know today is made from stone and brick.
