Informal Commands Introduction

Commands – telling somebody to do something! Commands are important because if you go to a Spanish speaking country, they are one of the first things you will hear! You’ll use them when you order something at the restaurant… …And when you go shopping!!

Commands – telling somebody to do something! Where else you could use the commands?

Commands Informal For someone you would call “tú” Informal, or familiar, speech is used among friends, coworkers, relatives, or when adressing a child.

Formal For someone you call “Usted” or “ustedes” Remember, formal speech is generally used to be polite or to express respect

What can you ask to do, let’s say… in Barcelona?! Speak more slowly! Open the window! Show me the city! Give me the ice-cream! Smile! What else can you think of?

How to ask somebody to DO something? Part I - Tú To make the affirmative informal (tú) commands is easy! All you have to do is just use third person singular form: hablar – habla! comer - come! escribir – escribe!
