What’s in a name? -Your name comes from your parents. Your name connects you to who you are. If you change your name you break with your heritage. -In business: Does it matter if you change the name?

Martin and Garcia Burnham were taken captive by Abusayaf several years ago. The kidnapping took place at a popular resort in Palawan called Dos Palms. After the incidence the resort changed its name. Sometimes it is necessary to change a name! In this case the name changed help to disassociate the past from the present.

“Branding” is marketing technique that helps to promote in the public’s eye a good product. “Starbucks”, “Procter and Gamble”, “Colgate”, etc. The name recognition helps to sell the product because it is associated with quality, reliability, old and well established, etc.

Branding is successful when a potential customer immediately thinks of a brand name when discussing a general product. If the discussion is about coffee and the first brand that comes to mind is “Starbucks” then the company has been successful in marketing the product. What happens when you change the name of a street? Confuse people, erase the past!

Are there communities where the name Baptist is not looked upon with favor? Are there communities where the name Baptist is looked upon with favor? It connects the contemporary church with a set of principles that are unique and have been practiced for 2000 years.
