A story for Hanukkah Written by the children of “Akiba” Academy in Dallas Texas And the children of “Rimon” kindergarten in Kibbutz Ein Mamifratz-Israel Hanukkah-2008 Edit by; Nava Leizer, Efrat Srebro and Elizabeth.R. Morris

Now let us see the end of the story: Nava Leizer, the teacher of “Rimon” kindergarten in Kibbutz Ein Hamifratz told her class the story that came from “Akiba” and they continued the play…

The children of “Rimon” kindergarten from Mate Asher who live in Kibbutz Ein Hamifratz, immediately wanted to help. They looked for a jug on the sea shore of Akko Between the antiquities which you can find there, they found an empty oil jug.

They returned quickly to Rimon’s playground and there, under the olive tree, they collected many many olives. The children put the olives in a juicer, smashed them and a very good olive oil was poured out.

The children filled up the jug with olive oil and walked to Jerusalem,to the Western Wall, the last remnant from our Temple. There, they met with the friends from Dallas Texas and gave them the jug of oil. The meeting was fun and very exciting. Our friends from Dallas were very happy to get the jug and gave it to the Maccabim.

When the Maccabim succeeded to use the oil which was done by the children of ‘Rimon” class and the Menorah was lightening, every one was very happy and all the children, together with the Maccabim, started singing “ Maoz Tzur”.

Then, when the light returned to our Temple, the children from ”Rimon” kindergarten said goodbye to the children from Dallas. The children from Dallas returned home with their jug and the children from Ein Hamifratz went back to their kibbutz feeling happy that they could help and very excited from the preparation for the coming Hanukkah. Happy Hanukkah From the children and the staff of “Rimon” class
