SUMMER STUDY ABROAD IN COSTA RICA Dr. Deb Cohen (office) (cell)
Why study in Costa Rica? The Costa Rica summer program of study abroad offers SRU students the chance to live and learn in the capital city of San José, a large, but friendly urban setting.
Housing and transportation Students live with carefully chosen families in a residential suburb, and learn to commute easily to and from the Universidad de Costa Rica by bus.
School, and after school… Classes meet daily from 9am-1pm, with afternoons and evenings free for exploring the city, its museums and clubs.
On the weekends… Students can hike, go white water rafting, see all kinds of animals, and enjoy wonderful food. Three weekend excursions are included in the price: Arenal Volcano, the rainforest, and the beach.
Nuts and bolts The cost is approximately $3,500, depending on the number of students who participate in the program (more students, lower cost), and also on airfare costs. The sooner you commit, the lower the airfare can be. Deadline for $130 non-refundable deposit plus SRU study abroad application is February 15 th. The application fee also covers the cost of your international student ID (low cost or free entry to museums and some social events).
