Explanation of Concept Eutrophication is the process where water bodies like lakes and slow moving streams receive excess nutrients that simulate excessive plant growth.

Detailed explanation Nitrate (nitrogen and oxygen ion) enriched groundwater can result in eutrophication. Eutrophication is where water bodies receive nutrients that simulate plant growth. Without these, plants won’t be able to grow as fast.
