Next… How SolarCool saves so much energy

Next… Evaporator Compressor SolarCool Condenser Expansion Valve Staged compression system, full load – no sun The refrigerant will run through the panel at normal flow rates and continue the standard refrigerant process. At full load requirement all compressors will run.

Next… Evaporator Expansion Valve Compressor SolarCool Condenser The panel absorbs the UV radiance from the sun. The vacuum tubes become internally hot and therefore heat the refrigerant gas as it passes through Yielding a reduced energy demand as the compressors begin to shut down and the panel takes over the load requirement No other system on the planet offers this kind of efficiency This process changes the kinetic energy of the gas molecules, forcing the molecules to move faster, thus enhancing the mass flow in the system Returning an increased capacity to the evaporator With sun…

Next… Evaporator Expansion Valve Compressor SolarCool Condenser The process works in the same way with variable and inverter systems. The simple difference being that the compressor slows down as the sun takes over the workload. No other system on the planet offers this kind of efficiency With sun… Inverter systems

Please note: The next 3 slides are for the technical engineers whom have an understanding of the Ideal Gas Law. Cont…

Absorption of the UV irradiance in the panel, heats up the refrigerant. The important part of this process is the irradiance, not the ambient temperature. Cont… p * V = n * R * T - Heat - Gas T V p * V = n * R * T P n As the refrigerant is in a continuous gaseous state, the Ideal Gas Law applies. The law applies to many different types of application. In the case of SolarCool it's the mass flow making the difference = amount (n) of gas molecules per second. p, n, R constant Volume increases V, n, R constant pressure increases p, V, R constant n decreases Gas heated

In a nutshell… Cont… Using the suns free energy, no other system on the planet offers this kind of efficiency

Those who may be concerned how the condenser addresses any additional heat generated by SolarCool: First and foremost, the systems condenser is designed to manage the compressors running at full load. The reality is when the sun is in the sky (the time when most systems run at full load), SolarCool will ensure that all compressors virtually never run at full load. Of course it would be fantastic to achieve the additional efficiency without additional heat, but the additional heat is the price we pay in return for the higher efficiency. We actually want the heat from the solar panel, enhancing the capacity of the compressor; with zero negative impact on the rest of the system. Enthalpy is increased by a maximum of 10%, which again we obviously would prefer not to have, however all modern systems are well able to cope, and subsequently return a much better efficiency for the heat: All Refrigeration and A/C systems are manufactured to a very specific design point, e.g. for A/C systems ISO This point sets the dimensions for the compressor, condenser and all other parts. Additionally, the condenser is typically designed with a 5-10% safety margin above the compressor’s capabilities. This margin and the facts covered in the first paragraph above allows SolarCool to easily cope with any additional heat, as is shown here and further clarified in third party testing data (T after condenser): Next… Very important 10kW system without SolarCool T-discharge T-after condenser 10kW system with SolarCool T-after panel T-discharge T-after condenser

SolarCool Non solar Inverter Data Measurement The illustration below demonstrates the energy usage on a SolarCool DC inverter system in comparison to an identical A+ rated DC inverter system. A clear cut case of ‘the hotter it gets’ the less the SolarCool system works’ – and as importantly the more the comparison A+ system works.
