USING MICROSEEP FOOTPRINTS FROM TWO INDEPENDENT OIL SENSORS TO PREDICT MAXIMUM PLAY POTENTIAL - OIL1 AND OIL2 SENSORS MONITOR DIFFERENT HYDROCARBON SUITES AND ALSO AT DIFFERENT SENSITIVITIES -IN THIS EXAMPLE ONLY FOOTPRINTS OF THE STRONGEST 25% OF SIGNAL STRENGTH AND AT LEASE 1KM 2 IN SIZE ARE SHOWN SUPERIMPOSED ON THE NAMUR SANDSTONE SURFACE WITHIN THE EROMANGA BASIN -THE NEXT MAP SHOWS AREAS >0.5KM 2 IN SIZE WHERE OIL1 AND OIL2 FOOTPRINTS OVERLAP, AND THE AREAS OF COINCIDENCE ARE DISPLAYED IN BLUE -THIS “STACKING” OF INDEPENDENT ANOMALIES IS OBVIOUSLY DESIREABLE, BUT ALLOWING THE UNIQUENESS OF BOTH SENSORS TO BE INCLUDED IN THE GENETIC PETROLEUM PLAY TREND PROJECTION WILL HELP ESTABLISH THE FAIRWAYS FOR FURTHER TECHNICAL REFINEMENT WITH LOCAL 3-D SEISMIC TO BE SHOT OVER THESE HYDROCARBON-BEARING TRENDS. -THE FOLLOWING MAPS SHOW HOW YOU COULD FORECAST NEW TRENDS USING OIL1, OIL2 OR BOTH SENSORS TO ENHANCE THE EXPLORATION PROSPECTIVITY WITHIN THE EROMANGA BASIN OR THE DEEPER AND MORE AREALLY LIMITED COOPER BASIN IN AUSTRALIA. OIL1 AND OIL2 MICROSEEP FOOTPRINTS FALLING BEYOND THE COOPER BASIN’S PERMIAN “ZERO EDGE” (SHOWN IN BOLD RED) MUST THEN BE CONSIDERED TO BE WITHIN THE EROMANGA BASINAL SEDIMENTS.
